Hristo Monov enters Parliament

Hristo Monov has been successful in his bid to become a member of the Bulgarian Parliament, winning a seat in Burgas with the Socialist Party (BSP).

Monov is the father of Andrei Monov, the young man whom Jock Palfreeman was found guilty of murdering. Along with two other civil claimants and the prosecutor, Hristo Monov played a critical role in preventing evidence that supported the defendant’s case from being heard in the trial.

In the lead up to the 12 May election it was revealed that Monov had been a secret agent during the communist regime.

Confusion continues to reign in the Balkan nation as neither of the two main parties have the numbers to form government.
