A Treasure Trove Under St Nedelya Square

Archeologists believe that important buildings from the ancient Roman city of Serdica lie under the area where Andrei Monov died and Jock Palfreeman was arrested.

The Sofia Globe reports there are plans to dig up St Nedelya Square to see if houses of governors or the mint can be found.

It also reports that experts believe the palace of Constantine the Great might be underneath the Sheraton Hotel across Maria Louisa Boulevard from St Nedelya Square.
